Hugo Kostrzewa
Born in 1982, I studied cultural mediation for one year in university, graphic arts and illustration for two years in Belgium before I joined ERSEP in Tourcoing in 2004.I often analysed fixed and moving images during this time as much in a semiological point of view as in their formal construction. So I kept this in mind when I started in Art. Another important part of my life is sound and music and I'm involved in various musical projects for years. I would say my work deals with absurd, cultural confrontations, idiocy, semiology, DIY, outward and returns from conscious to unconscious. These three recent years I tried to diversify my experiences, participating to a weekly podcast under the direction of Christophe Atabekian, a six months long work-in-progress workshop at the Musée des Beaux Arts de Tourcoing under the direction of Magali Claude, various trainings such as soundtakes, mixing, lightnings and photography, shooting etc... I also offer a helping and for Gregoire Motte's last exhibition in ERSEP. In parallel, I run an performance oriented art-rock band called String Ensemble Helicoptere for 2 years. I'm currently studying at Le Fresnoy in the context of a regional school exchange.
